No technical knowledge required. Just tell me what your device is doing, and I take care of the rest.
Call, text, or send me a quick email. Let me know what device you have and the symptoms you're experiencing.
I give you a clear upfront labor quote. If your fix needs a part, I send you a link to the exact one so you can order it yourself at cost. Once it arrives, we schedule a time and I install it.
I fix your tech and verify everything works. Afterward, I check in with you and answer any follow-up questions for free for one week.
For mobile house calls throughout Cookeville, Algood, Baxter, and Putnam County, travel is 75¢ per round-trip mile (there and back), calculated from Tennessee Tech's address with a 1-hour ($40) labor minimum, so the first hour is $40 even if the job only takes 30 minutes. That full hour is yours — if we finish your primary fix early, feel free to ask questions on any other gadgets, Wi-Fi, or smart TVs for the rest of the hour! Additional time is just $30/hr.
Nothing to fix once I arrive? If the problem fixed itself, it can't be repaired, you change your mind, or no one's home, you only pay a $10 trip fee + mileage. Cancel or reschedule at least 1 hour ahead and it's free.
Mileage example: if you live 5 miles from TTU, that's 10 miles round trip × 75¢ = $7.50. A 1-hour visit would be $40 + $7.50 = $47.50.
Can't drop it off? For repairs I do at my workbench, I can pick up and return your device for a one-time $5 fee + mileage both ways. Example: 5 miles away = $5 + $7.50 to pick up + $7.50 to return = $20. Or drop it off on TTU campus for free.
I don't stock or mark up parts. If your device needs a new battery or drive, I find the exact compatible part and send you the direct retail link so you pay retail cost (0% markup) and keep the manufacturer warranty. You only pay my agreed labor fee after the repair is done and verified.
Friendly, affordable rates for Cookeville neighbors and Tennessee Tech students. Clear upfront price ranges with 0% markup on parts. Workbench repairs can be dropped off free on TTU campus or picked up for a one-time $5 fee + mileage; In-Home services are done at your place.
Stop annoying popups, frozen screens, and suspicious warnings. I scan for and remove malicious software, check startup programs and browser extensions, look for unwanted remote-access programs (a common trick in "tech support" scams), clean junk files, and update your security settings.
Is your computer painfully slow, or does it stutter with a few tabs open? I check what's holding it back first, then recommend the upgrade that will actually help. All your files and programs stay right where you left them.
Heads up: some computers have storage or memory soldered to the board, but most can be upgraded. I'll check yours first. If it's simply too old for an upgrade to make financial sense, I can help you find the best replacement for your budget instead.
Got tech that you just can't get to work? I can help set things up, walk you through new devices (like getting a new smart TV online and signed into your streaming apps), or troubleshoot stubborn gadgets with patience and zero rush. Feel free to text/email me your issue first. Quick questions by text or email are free (within reason)! For house calls, it's $40 for the first hour (a 1-hour minimum, even if we finish sooner), then $30/hr.
Tired of weak signals and buffering? I can install Wi-Fi repeaters, extenders, or mesh systems to help your Wi-Fi reach every corner, and install hardware solutions to improve your overall home network speed and reliability. $40 for the first hour (a 1-hour minimum, even if we finish sooner), then $30/hr.
Wireless security cameras too! I can set up battery-powered cameras and video doorbells (Ring, Blink, Wyze, Eufy, and more): app setup, Wi-Fi connection, mounting, and making sure the signal reaches them.
Battery won't hold a charge? Laptop getting burning hot, sounding like a jet engine, or shutting down by itself? I open it up safely, fix the problem, and verify it runs properly. Still under warranty? Check with the manufacturer first, since opening it up may void it.
Loose or broken charging port that only charges when you hold the cord at an angle? I disassemble the laptop, replace the damaged port or charging board carefully, and verify everything works. Still under warranty? Check with the manufacturer first, since opening it up may void it.
Why it costs more: on many laptops the port is built into the motherboard or needs a full teardown to reach. I'll check yours and quote it upfront. If your port is soldered to the board, I'll explain the small risk of board damage before starting, and you decide whether to go ahead.
Getting a new desktop or laptop? I take care of the whole switch, so you don't have to stress about losing your family pictures, tax documents, music, or bookmarks.
Full package: $65 – $80. Already bought your new computer? File transfer, plus the free old-PC wipe and haul-away, is just $45 – $60.
Worried about online fraud, hacked accounts, or stolen passwords? I secure your router, set up an easy password manager, configure two-factor protection, and set up automatic backups. $40 for the first hour (a 1-hour minimum, even if we finish sooner), then $30/hr.
Want a gaming PC, workstation, or home server built right? You order the parts (I never order parts for you), then I install everything with clean cable management and set up the computer to your preference, then stress-test it so it's ready to go.
Compatibility guarantee: if I picked your parts and they don't work together, I'll help you exchange them and won't charge extra labor to finish the build. Any defective part is covered by its manufacturer's warranty, and I'll help you start the return.
Don't waste money on overpriced computers or parts you don't need. If your laptop is simply too old to upgrade, or you're shopping for a new laptop, desktop, or prebuilt computer, I will research the market, compare specs, and report back with the best options for your budget and goals. Planning a custom-built PC? See the Custom PC Build card instead.
What you get: up to 3 recommendations, with a short summary report comparing price, specs, and pros & cons, so you can buy with confidence.
Accidentally formatted a drive, or a computer won't turn on? I attempt to recover your irreplaceable photos and documents onto a safe USB drive. No Data, No Fee Guarantee — if I can't recover your files, you don't pay.
Clicking or physically damaged drive? I'll refer you to a professional data recovery lab instead, so your files keep the best chance of being saved.
Got old desktop towers, broken laptops, monitors, power supplies, cords, or unwanted electronics taking up space in your closet or garage? I will come directly to your door to haul away any unwanted e-waste I can fit in my car!
Your privacy comes first: Before any machine is recycled or repurposed, I personally wipe every drive using NIST 800-88 methods (the industry standard): hard drives get a full overwrite, and SSDs get the drive's built-in secure-erase. Prefer it destroyed? I'll physically dismantle the drive instead. Already booking a house call, bundling with another service, or dropping off on TTU campus? Haul-away and drive wipe is 100% FREE!
